When should I start shopping for my wedding dress?
As soon as you get engaged! Okay, maybe you need some time to process the initial excitement of the situation, but you really should start shopping at least nine months before your wedding date. Once ordered, a wedding dress can take 6 to 8 months to arrive. On top of that, you need to factor in one to two months for fittings and alterations. We do have rush gowns available, however you will be responsible for additional rush fees that are passed down by the designer.
Do I need an appointment?
We want your experience to be as intimate and personal as possible. Therefore, we do require appointments to try on both bridal and bridesmaid gowns. During your appointment, we close the store to the public, giving you the chance to browse our selection of designer gowns in private. While we will do our best to accommodate walk-ins, we cannot guarantee that you will have access to the store. Priority will always be given to our brides who have made an appointment.
Who should I bring with me?
Shopping for a bridal gown is a once in a lifetime experience and we realize that there are many people in your life you want to share it with. However, we suggest that you limit your guests to a few key people. Everyone will have opinion on every gown that you try on, and too many opinions can make the experience a bit overwhelming. Therefore, bring only those who you know are truly there to support you.
How long are appointments?
You should never feel rushed when making such an important decision, so we block out 90 minutes for all bridal appointments. Bridesmaids are given one hour.
What should I bring to my appointment?
One of our stylists will be helping you get in and out of the gowns, so bring a strapless bra, as well as any other undergarments you will feel comfortable in. If you happen to forget, don’t worry! We stock strapless bras in a variety of sizes.
What is a sample sale?
A sample sale is your chance to buy a designer gown at a deeply discounted price. All dresses are sold off the rack, and consist mostly of gowns that have been discontinued by the designer. Sample sales are held twice a year and are ideal for the bride on a budget as well as those who don’t have the time to go through the ordering process. Check the ‘Events’ tab to see if there is one scheduled soon.
What is a trunk show?
While we stock our store with a wide variety of each designer’s collection, it is only a fraction of the gowns available in a particular line. A trunk show is a special weekend where the designer ships their entire collection to us so that you get the chance to see gowns that aren’t typically carried in our store. In some cases, you may even get to meet the designer! Trunk shows are extremely popular, so we do require appointments.
How much do your gowns cost?
Our gowns start at $1,500 and go up to $4,500, with the majority falling between $2,500 and $3,000. It is important for you to let us know your budget up front. That way we can steer you in the right direction and keep you from falling in love with a gown that may be just out of your reach. We have taken great pride in the gowns we have chosen for our store, and we are confident that we can help you find a dress whether your budget is at the bottom or top of this price range.
Do you offer bridal accessories as well?
YES! We are proud to be a flagship boutique of Justine M. Couture. We have a large variety of veils, sashes, jewelry, and headpieces that you won’t find anywhere else in Ohio. Want something even more unique? Most pieces are customizable! Please keep in mind, that as with our dresses, all of our accessories are made to order. Allow for 12 weeks for your pieces to come in.
